Crigler Family Vision Center is the Starkville location of your optometrist in Mississippi – Mississippi Eye Care. They also have optometry offices in other Mississippi areas like Bay Springs, Louisville, Meridian, Newton, Macon, Philadelphia, and Union.

Our Services

Here at Crigler Family Vision Center, we offer full optometry services for our Mississippi patients. Eye exams to diagnose vision disturbances, conditions, or possible disease are at the forefront of our eye care.

We provide designer frames to choose from among and our helpful professional office staff can assist you in choosing a pair that suits your needs and unique style. If glasses are not your style, we can help you find a contact lens solution that will work best for you.

Furthermore, we provide referral and pre- and post-operative examinations for LASIK and other eye procedures. LASIK is a procedure for treating conditions like farsightedness (hyperopia), astigmatism, and nearsightedness (myopia).

Our Offices

The professional staff of Cringer Family Vision Center works closely with insurance partners such as Blue Cross Blue Shield, VSP, Medicaid, and Medicare to get you the vision services you need. We also accept Care Credit, cash, personal checks, and most credit cards.

We are open Monday through Thursday from 8:30 am to 5 pm and on Fridays from 8:30 am to 4 pm. The office is closed from 1 pm to 2 pm daily for lunch, on weekends, and all major holidays.

Our Mississippi Eye Doctor

Dr. Amy Crigler leads our office as our Mississippi eye doctor. She graduated with her Doctor of Optometry Degree in 1980 from Southern College of Optometry (SCO). She bears a number of professional designations and awards including:

  • Mississippi Optometrist of the Year in 2004
  • American Optometric Association member
  • Mississippi Optometric Association member
  • Northeast Optometric Society member
  • State Legislative Committee chairperson
  • Vision USA Program state chairperson
  • Optometry for Progress chair
  • Mississippi Optometric Association executive committee member, President in 2006 – 2007 & 2018 – 2019

Crigler Family Vision Center is also fortunate enough to have Dr. Chris Herring – a Starkville native – as a second optometrist on staff. He joined us in June 2017 after graduating from SCO with his DO degree. He is a member of the American Optometric Association, the Mississippi Optometric Association, and Northeast Optometric Society.

    A native of Philadelphia, Mississippi Dr. Stribling is a 1983 graduate of the University of Alabama/Birmingham School of Optometry. He has been in private practice in Philadelphia, MS since 1983. He has been a partner in Louisville Eye Care with Dr. Gil Davis since 1999.

    A native of Louisville, Mississippi, Dr. Gil Davis is a 1986 graduate of The University of Alabama School of Optometry. He began his career in an O.D. /M.D. practice in Georgia before returning to Mississippi to purchase the Newton Eye Clinic in 1989. The Newton Eye Clinic is a primary eyecare clinic which services the residents of Newton county and surrounding areas.
